Student teams also are encouraged to sign up for the Yield Challenge. The teams with the highest percent yield increase over their local county averages will win cash awards for their schools. 

Registration Fee: $25 per Yield Challenge entry -

Who can participate?

FFA chapters, community colleges and universities, and college ag club teams may participate. Yields, cropping history and production information will be included in the Yield Challenge 2013 management summary.

What do we hope to gain?

  • Reveal management practices necessary to maximize soybean yields
  • Encourage the use of new crop management strategies and technologies
  • Provide useful data to researchers, agribusinesses and growers for improving yield potential
  • Promote profitable and sustainable agricultural practices

What are the benefits of participating?

  • Soil testing for nutrients in both plots
  • Plant tissue testing for nutrients in both plots
  • Soil analyses for Soybean Cyst Nematode egg counts and SCN Type testing
  • Protein and oil analyses of grain samples taken from both harvested plots
