“Show Us Your Mud” Facebook Photo Contest

Record-setting rains and flooding have delayed planting for a majority of the state, but ISA is making the best out of the messy conditions via social media. If you aren’t letting the rain stop you from planting, visit ISA’s Facebook page and submit your muddiest picture from the field for a chance to win a $25 biodiesel coupon. Whether of your truck, tractor, boots or yourself, the five photos receiving the most votes before Memorial Day, May 27, will win a voucher for $25 off the purchase of biodiesel blended at B2 or higher. Check back each day and vote for your favorite; one vote per Facebook user per day.

U of I Calculator Helps with Soybean Seeding-rate Decisions

To help make seeding rate decisions for soybeans, U of I developed a seeding rate calculator. The calculator returns seed spacing down the row, seed requirements per acre and for the field, and the amount of time it will take to plant the field. It also works great for corn or small-grain seed as well! An Android app and iPhone/iPad online spreadsheet are available.
